Synopsis (for text of The Radio Murders: The Collectors, see below)
It had been a while since Herman Jeffries and Torsha Lofton had some time together. And they were taking full advantage of a night without crime scenes, visits to the morgue, interviewing suspects or preparing more breaking news about a local killing spree.
So the interruption should not have come as surprise to either of the lovers. A phone call from the studios of KCI radio was bad enough. What came next changed everything...again.
Meanwhile at KCI Radio, a dreaded realization is coming clear, through the phone and ultimately on over the air. Crash Kradich's sister Lani has been a fugative for days, and now her final act was unfolding before the ears of tens of thousands.
The Crenshaws were seconds away from painful deaths. Yet someone was there, the last person expected by either Captain Stacy Crenshaw of the Chicago Police or her father, a distinguished professor emeritis of history. By the time the show was over, both would be thankful for the stranger's intervention and Stacy will never forget him.
